According to the CDC, one in six people in the United States are sickened each year with a foodborne illness. Another issue is the presence of allergens in certain foods and they account for the single largest cause of global food recalls. The path that food takes today, from farm-to-processor, or farm-to-plate, can be very complex. Which is why having a system in place to make sure that products/environments are safe is so important.

This workshop will focus on learning how to implement analytical testing tools to support an effective food safety quality management system and specifically how environmental monitoring can be used as a cost-effective solution to control risk during the process.

This course combines two of our most popular workshops. It is available as a one-day workshop. It can be extended to two days depending on the needs of the organization and the amount of hands-on training required.

Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) & Root Cause Analysis will provide a clear understanding of the necessary criteria as it relates to corrections, corrective actions, preventive actions and continuous improvement.  It provides a solid foundation for the attendee, whether he/she is a system novice or is already maintaining an effective management system.

D. L. Newslow and Associates, Inc. is proud to be one of the premier companies offering the Food Safety HACCP Manager Exam developed by skilled, subject matter experts utilized by NRFSP. This exam is scheduled throughout the year, usually in conjunction with our HACCP workshops but also as a standalone review and test. The review portion is 1 ½ days with the 2 hour exam immediately following the completion of the review portion. Attendees may also choose to purchase an exam voucher that can be used at any of the 1600 Pierson Vue testing sites located throughout the U.S. and Canada.

This four hour workshop provides an excellent foundation for the review of various topics related to the 2013 FDA Food Code in preparation for the NRFSP Certified Food Safety Manager exam. The two hour NRFSP certification exam follows this training and enhances the knowledge of food safety managers in the food industry. The review includes fundamentals of food safety including temperature control, cooking and cooling, cross-contamination, employee hygiene practices, calibration, equipment cleaning and more. This exam exceeds industry expectations and is accredited by ANSI (American National Standards Institute).
